I was dropping off my son to practice cricket. Considering I have played this game for over 25 years, the game came naturally to him. There were about a hundred kids playing, I was standing with the other parents while they were playing and having the best time of their life! I noticed a kid who came into bat, he must have been 10 years old but played like he was 18! The stance, the shots, the drives, the glance, he had everything that would make him hit a century every-time he went out to the field.
3 hours were done, kids were tired and it was a productive day. I went up to that kid and said you were great! My question to him was why are you using this particular bat and he said “ because Virat Kohli uses it”. My observation : he was actually using a bat that was for grown ups. Every cricketer is different, has a different style of play, has a different stance, has a different need. Why are we using the same equipment as anyone else? This was the question running through my mind. 2 years ago, I decided to take it up and really work on cricketers to understand what their style is and suggest the best equipment for them.
